  • yellow cucumber - medium size -1
  • 2 medium size tomatoes
  • green chillies -4-5
  • coriander
  • tamarind pulp- 1 tbs
  • salt as per taste
  • turmeric powder- 1/4 tbs
  • 1 tbs fenugreek seeds
  • 1 tbs chana dal
  • 1/2 tbs urad dal
  • 1/2 tbs mustard seeds
  • asafoetida - 1/4 tbs
  • oil- 3 tbs

Step 1

heat oil...add all tempering ingredients...take it into a bowl..along with asafoetida.... in the same pan...heat 1 tbs oil...add cucumber pieces...saute for 4 min...add tomatoe pieces also....saute for till they turn soft..

Step 2

put all the tempering ingredients in a mixie jar...along with green chillies...tamarind pulp...salt...turmeric ...grind them for few seconds....then add cucumber pieces(separate them from they are in medium big size)...grind them few seconds.... add tomatoes along with coriander...grind it for few seconds... the texture of the chutney will be very good.... it goes very well with rice...chapathies....millets...quinoa....and sandwitches......
